Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. You'll serve as an Electronics Mechanic in the PRODUCTION DIV, NAVFAC MIDLANT, NSA HAMPTON ROADS.

Duties

You will use advanced mathematical formulas and basic electronic principles and fundamentals in testing and analyzing complex electronic security systems. You will fill out testing and adjustment reports. You will check work to ensure supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines are met. You will effectively communicate with other agencies in regard to system operations, discrepancies, and security requirements in order to comply with security regulations and instructions. You will maintain the electronic control consoles, operation, adjustment and repair of all master alarm boxes. You will compute voltage, amperage, resistance and capacitance factors of printed circuits and master alarm circuit components.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of this position without more than normal supervision: I have the ability to perform common tasks to include: 1) Monitoring electronic security systems (i.e. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Automated Access Control Systems (AACS), Sound Masking Systems (SMS), Inter-Communication Systems (ICS), Forward-Looking Infrared Camera Systems (FLIRCS), Fiber Optic Networks (FON), Copper Networks (CON), Data Communication Systems (DCS), and Closed Circuit Television Systems (CCTVS); 2) Reading blueprints, technical manuals, work instructions, standard operating procedures and repair manuals to perform preventive maintenance inspections; 3) Installing security monitoring devices (i.e. motion, vibration detectors, and logic communications devices); and 4) Recognizing proper and improper operations, locating causes, and determining the best method to correct defects; and 5) Disassembling, assembling, and adjusting electronic equipment.
