You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Program Administration Branch (Code 1430.1) Quality Assurance Division (Code 1430) Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (Code 1400) (NFPC), in Philadelphia Pennsylvania a detachment of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will monitor surveillances, communicate to the supervisor of the conditions and provide follow-up activities to ensure the corrective action was completed and effective in resolving the issue.
The incumbent provide management with compliance recommendations to implement a comprehensive program for continuous critical self-evaluation of performance.
You will monitor quality and performance data on a daily basis to identify problems, determine causes, and affect corrective, preventive, and improvement actions.
You will coordinate with the supervisor to identify the status and any coordination efforts outside of the code needed to complete the commitment to support the facility’s mission.
You will perform preplanning (surveillance plan) activities, shadow with any external auditing agency during audits, gather all Objective Quality Evidence and findings, and coordinate the audit response plan.
You will identify, prioritize, and evaluate (as to achievable, manageable) the actions necessary to mitigate future problems and inefficiencies; and assign responsibility for action.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS- 11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying the full range of quality assurance principles related to propeller fabrication and foundry production as well as product machining, assembly, installation, testing, and related processes.
Experience applying quality assurance principles involving investigative and analysis methods and techniques to assess and evaluate programs and processes.
Experience applying NFPC and NNSY policies and procedures as related to such functional areas as engineering, planning, production, and administration.
Experience evaluating data, analyzing quality trends and advising managers and subject matter experts on the resolution of quality problems.
Experience preparing official correspondence and interpreting data/reports and resolving problems.
Experience analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of quality programs, along with knowledge of the mission, and organization.
Experience reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting reports produced by lower graded personnel.
