You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military) in the Installation Personnel Administration Center (IPAC), within the Marine Forces Reserve G-1 of MARFORRES NOLA.
Duties
You will retrieve data from various information sources, both manual and electronic, for use in answering questions, responding to correspondence and emails, or preparing reports or briefings.
You will determine and monitor corrective action utilizing computer applications, telephone and written correspondence.
You will review active duty and reserve military pay accounts to resolve pay and allowance problems.
You will adhere to user guides for transaction processing and provide technical reports to automation support offices on related transaction processing and system software problems.
You will prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents in draft and final form using word processing software or other automated programs.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Maintaining procedural review of personnel actions (pay entitlements, benefits entitlements and authorizations, and accurate retirement data and eligibility); (2) Verifying pay accounts for accuracy and discrepancies while taking the recommended course of action for any issues/errors; (3) Recommending appropriate action based on specific program requirements, current rules and existing regulations on clear cut cases; (4) Researching and providing information regarding a variety of rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements to provide explanations of actions taken; and (5) Retrieving and entering data in automated systems, both manual and electronic, for use in answering questions, responding to correspondence, or preparing reports or briefings.
