Duties

You will oversee the program of activities designed for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years of age to include those who are physically and mentally impaired. You will be responsible for the financial operations of the CDC You will plan, direct, organize, and exercise control over employees assigned to one of the CDCs located at MCAS, Cherry Point. You will manages one Child Development Center which include program such as full day care, part-day care, hourly care, and special needs care for children six weeks through 12 years of age. You will develop and implement parent/community programs, formulates and implements fire, health, safety, nutrition and environmental policies/procedures for children based on USDA Child Care Food Program criteria.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing child development and behavioral principles to create developmental programs and with adherence to Childcare Acts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Minimum education requirement:

1. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.

   or

2. Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.
