This is a position which provides audiologic services specifically to the Ft. Peck Service Unit. The services provided will include but are not limited to audiologic screening, audiologic evaluation and fitting, aural rehabilitation, consultation, in-service training for Service Unit Personnel and program development and evaluation. A housing subsidy of up to $757.60 per pay period without dependents or $916.30 per pay period with dependents may be available in Poplar, MT and Wolf Point, MT

Duties

Act as an intermediary between patient, Service Unit personnel and program personnel representing the program in interactions with field personnel. Responsible for maintaining an inventory and calibration schedule for all audiologic equipment. Monitors and evaluates all aspects of audiologic portions of the Program in terms of unit cost, quality and compliance with established professional audiologic concepts, principles, and practices. Develop an annual budget for the provision of audiologic services at the Fort Peck service Unit.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: A graduate or higher level graduate degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of audiology with approved clinical practice. Your education program must have been approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology(CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure: A full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Audiology in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-12: Independently selecting, administering and interpreting a full range of consultative and diagnostic Audiology procedures for patients of all ages. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
