About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin Golf Course.
Duties
Troubleshoots and makes repairs and adjustments to the golf course irrigation systems and components, electrical and plumbing,
in accordance with manufacturer and air force standards. The irrigation system includes, wells, pumping stations, 1/2 inch to 10-inch irrigation pipe, valves, risers, controls, and sprinkler heads. Use mechanical equipment such as ditch diggers, front end loaders, etc. and hand tools such as shovels, picks, etc. to unearth or bury irrigations components.
Performs preventative maintenance on irrigation system and components using established industry standards. Performs turf moisture tests using moisture meter and water pressurization tests. Checks sprinkler water patterns and adjusts for optimum coverage.
Maintains mower blades by inspection, adjustments and sharpening as required. Ensures safety requirements for mowing equipment is adhered to and blades have necessary safety inspections.
Assists with other golf course maintenance of grounds and buildings as assigned such as assisting the pest controllers and coordinates watering requirements when fertilizers and fungicides are being applied to the course.
Maintains an irrigation system repair parts inventory of commonly used repair parts. Coordinates parts requests with the golf course supply technician.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repair/replacement of irrigation components or systems. Knowledge of irrigation
systems automatic/manual electrical systems and components. Knowledge of irrigation system plumbing components and systems
and soil drainage systems such as French drains. Knowledge and ability to measure mower blade settings, blade adjustments, and
blade sharpening techniques. Experience in other related trades such as carpentry, painting, masonry, asphalt work, and pest control
is desirable. Must have a valid Motor Vehicle Drivers License. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical. Must be able to
work irregular hours such as nights, weekends and holidays.
