Duties
Serves as Electronic Equipment Maker Installer and Repairer, working on a wide range of equipment categories.
Discusses trouble with operating and/or distant station personnel to determine nature of equipment or system malfunction.
responsible for diagnosing and repairing most troubles with a minimum of loss of circuit time, and inconvenience to customers.
Performs periodic preventative maintenance and determines the operational reliability of the equipment.
Makes standard installations and/or relocations of equipment in accordance with local or other engineering and security specifications.
Responsible for testing completed installation of new, old or modified equipment or systems for proper operation.
Occasionally performs basic design and construction of special purpose test devices, interface units, and other similar equipment as required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is designated Special Sensitive -- in order to perform the duties of this position, the incumbent must be eligible for, receive, and retain a Top Secret Compartmented (SCI) clearance based on a Tier 5 (T5) Investigation.
- This position requires compliance with Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements --preemployment and random drug testing.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Equipment Maker Installer and Repairer without more than normal supervision. Performing functional circuit testing to determine the extent of repairs required; repairing various types of electronic systems; Performing periodic preventative maintenance and determining the operational reliability of the equipment; and Working on a wide range of equipment categories performing such duties as troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, installation and relocation, equipment evaluation test, fabrication, and modifications - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Working Conditions: Work is generally performed inside with frequent outside assignments. There is a danger of burns orshock from high voltage circuits and possible injury from handling equipments. There is need tooccasionally climb various towers and structures up to 300 feet and to work in other hazardousareas.
