Directly supports administrative functions of the Mental Health Service staff. Coordinates with the team by performing office support tasks, coordinates communication between Veterans, families, VA and community healthcare services. Collects data from multiple computer databases to provide information on consult management, resource utilization, quality of care, requires experience with fund control point management and budget reconciliation. Provides PMDB education as an facility instructor.
Duties
Major duties include (but not limited to):
Tracks program specific information for grants and contracts.
Maintains ongoing records of fund control activity.
Executes fleet management programs.
Develops data collection tools.
Analyzes work flow to identify technical problems.
Provides customer service to Veterans, staff and external stakeholders.
Compiles statistical data for programs.
Builds, schedules, coordinates, and administrates classes in TMS.
Facilitates classroom instruction as a certified trainer for PMDB.
Authors and maintains records in various electronic systems such as CPRS, Vista, DBRS, and others.
Authors and maintains data spreadsheets, Word documents, and correspondence to all stakeholder categories.
As a facility trainer for PMDB, schedules, creates, tracks and teaches PMDB classes.
Administration of correspondence and work order resolution for PMDB Leaf system.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/22/2024.
GS-06 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
This occupational series has a typing requirement: Applicants must be able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
GS-06 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Routes incoming phone calls to appropriate staff.
Utilizes various computer programs to prepare reports.
Prepares written correspondence that meets national standards.
Procures all needed supplies and equipment.
Prepares data driven reports.

Physical Requirements: This work involves walking, standing, public speaking, bending, movement of raising arms above head, ability to turn and bend neck and carrying of some light items. The work requires the incumbent to be able to move comfortably around the office, classroom and when necessary other locations. The work involves a considerable amount of time gathering and recording data.

Education
As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
