Duties

You will manage aspects (e.g. cost, schedule, performance and integration) of supportability for weapon systems and equipment. You will analyze risks to support risk mitigation strategy and incorporate it into the program risk mitigation plan. You will refine logistics support to reflect design changes (e.g. Product Improvement Programs (PIPs), modifications). You will prepare logistics supporting documents and presentations for milestone reviews and other program assessments. You will develop the program's logistics budget profile to mitigate supportability risks. You will plan the testing of logistics support to evaluate the results against operational requirements and pre-determined measurable metrics.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-2 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing the cost, schedule, performance and/or integration aspects of supportability for weapon systems and equipment; leading the program team in developing the System Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP).
