This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL Mission Support Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a flexible/renewable Term NTE 2 years FLRT & T DHA Solicitation (STRL) Mission Support, w/opt to indefinitely renew, may be made noncompetitively converted to a career-conditional or career appointment.

Duties

Serve as the Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) coordinator for DEVCOM Soldier Center. Provide management guidance for retail level logistics. Perform basic electricity and electronic theory, algebra, and elementary physics. Apply laws, principles, standards, techniques, policies, and concepts of a program to accomplish objectives. Present findings and results, in writing or orally, for higher-level review or publication. Apply design characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems. Manage the TMDE database for Soldier Center Work with contractors to schedule calibration of items; pick up and deliver items for teams. Obtain quotes from contractors to perform calibration and repair work on Soldier Center equipment. Work with Soldier Center teams to determine best path forward to meet their equipment needs (e.g. evaluate pros/cons of replacement or repair of older equipment). Package and ship items to vendors who perform work at offsite facilities.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-02/GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent which includes: 1) Experience as an Electronics Technician for maintenance, repair, analyzing problems and developing individual approaches and work plans; 2) Apply knowledge of the laws, principles, standards, techniques, policies, to accomplish objectives. 3) experience utilizing knowledge of electronics theories, principles, methods for a wide variety of equipment to determine functionality and operation of electronic systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02). Please note: Pay Band DE-02 is equivalent to a GS-05 through GS-11 grade levels and Pay Band DE-01 is equivalent to a GS-01 through GS-04 grade level. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
