The primary purpose of this position is to complete complex work involving civilian payroll transactions, to include novel and unique pay situations using the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS).
Duties
Completes complex work involving civilian payroll transactions, to include novel and unique pay situations.
Computes very complex and unique pay changes that require making retroactive adjustments and tracing errors involving the correction of pay covering long periods and involve a full variety of civilian pay transactions.
Provides service to internal/external customers (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to civilian pay.
Processes and responds to requests for sensitive administrative and financial information from both internal and external agencies.
Provides customer service in person or by telephone, and completes correspondence (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares letters to
obtain missing information, etc.) related to civilian pay.

- This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this program.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Civilian Pay Series 0544 Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or will have, within 120 days of the closing of this announcement, 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the, DU-02 or GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of complex and novel civilian payroll transactions to include retroactive adjustments and tracing errors involving the correction of pay, effecting entitlements to overtime, differentials, special pay, etc.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
