This position is located at Acoma-Canoncito-Laguna Indian Health Center, General Services Department in Acomita, New Mexico. The purpose of the position is to function as a Supply Technician to provide general property and supply services to the Service Unit, one field clinic, and one treatment center.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to provide property and supply functions for the service unit and field clinics.
Responsible for all property and supply functions including procurement of supplies, inventory control, storage, issuance, accountability, utilization, equipment and equipment reports reconciliations, redistribution of excess property, and storage of supplies.
Serves as a Government credit card holder.
Serves as a Receiving Agent for the Service Unit.
Evaluates, compiles and prepares receiving reports within seventy-two hours of delivery.
Evaluates and implements vendor payment information for supplies, equipment and services with the Area Finance Office.
Receives, verifies, issues, stores supplies, and maintains safe operation of materials handling equipment. Loads and unloads shipments of various sizes, weights and types utilizing a dolly and/or forklift to move or stack supplies and/or equipment.
Prepares hand receipts, documents all equipment purchases, and tags equipment with proper property tags.
Delivers supplies and/or equipment to departments and maintains receiving and delivery documents.
Assist in tagging and recording equipment per I.H.S. policies. Assists with the disposition of government property in accordance with established procedures.
Meters and transports mail to and from San Fidel Post Office and sorts government mail on a daily basis. Determines the most economical rate of mail delivery. Initiates shipping labels for outgoing UPS packages.
Coordinates receipt of documents, packages, boxes delivered by the postal service, UPS, FedEx, and other delivery systems.
Manages GSA Vehicles for assignment or dispatch basis, conducts periodic inspections of all government vehicles and ensures all maintenance on vehicles is completed in a timely manner.
Operates a government vehicle by driving to Albuquerque, New Mexico and surrounding areas on a weekly basis to pick up supplies and perform short stop errands as scheduled.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: experience with governing regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions concerning a supply program; independently performs extensive research of required information, construct records for multiple supply transactions, and records activities involving specialized or unique supplies and equipment; properly store supplies and redistribute excess property; safeguard unique supplies and special purpose items; update data and generate reports in an automated inventory system.
Typing Proficiency Requirement:
In addition to meeting specialized experience requirements, applicants for this position must show possession of Office Automation skills and must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
