As a Supervisory Hydrologist within the Upper Midwest Water Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:

Qualification Requirments:
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIRMENT: Applicants must meet A or B below to satisfy the basic education requirement for Hydrologist, all grade levels.
A. Degree: physical or natural science, or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in any combination of courses in hydrology, the physical sciences, geophysics, chemistry, engineering science, soils, mathematics, aquatic biology, atmospheric science, meteorology, geology, oceanography, or the management or conservation of water resources. The course work must have included at least 6 semester hours in calculus (including both differential and integral calculus), and at least 6 semester hours in physics. Calculus and physics, as described above, are requirements for all grade levels.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience -- course work as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
For GS-13:
Applicants must meet the following to qualify for the GS-13:
One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-012 level in the Federal service.
Examples of Experience GS12 level work: 1) Plan a variety of water resource studies to accomplish objectives. 2) Provide technical advice to the public, managers and lower graded employees. 3) Serve as a subject matter expert hydrologist.

Education
