Duties

In the Secret Service, we serve the country with duty, loyalty, justice, integrity and courage. In the Secret Service, we:
Protect the President, the Vice President, and other leaders; investigate threats against them; and safeguard their residences and other facilities.
Plan and implement security designs for National Special Security Events.
Investigate financial crimes including fraud, identity theft and computer-based attacks on banking or telecommunications infrastructure.
The selectee will serve asEngineering Technician in the Facilities Management Branch. . Typical work assignments include:
Interpreting contract requirements that pertain to construction practices and procedures.
Communicating with contractor representatives to resolve issues that may arise.
Identifying, investigating and reporting deficiencies and work delays as it relates to contractual relevance, cause and potential corrective actions.
Prioritizing service orders based on mission critical functions.
Perform the duties of a COR (Contracting Officer Representative).
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $82,764.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level performing the following duties:
Recommending changes in construction to ensure budget maintenance;
Monitoring projects to ensure discussed timelines and budgets are maintained;
Providing information to lead engineers on possible work delays; and
Monitoring inventory of construction materials.
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $82,764.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level performing the following duties:
Reviewing project plans to clarify discrepancies and resolve any possible issues;
Communicating with contractor representatives to ensure project outcomes are in everyone's best interest;
Gathering information to assist with project valuation and contractual details; and
Preparing construction related documents (i.e., scope of work and project specifications) to ensure project milestones are met.
