You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk (FLCN), Industrial Support Department, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), Newport News, Integrated Logistics Support Divison in Newport News, VA.
Duties
You will review and validate the configuration records associated with shipboard equipment, including comparing ship equipment with onboarding technical data, ships automated systems, and other data bases.
You will Identify material requirements, requisitioning, expediting, and receiving material essential to correct discrepancies, deficiencies, and restore equipment to full mission capability.
You will perform oversight and execution of various supply programs and solving unusually complex or difficult supply issues associated with various DOD programs.
You will review and analyze data to prepare and provide cost estimates for GFM purchase requirements.
You will analyze, investigate, develop and contribute resolutions to varied, unusual, and complex material problems.
You will develop and implement work agreements and procedures to facilitate material support.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
You must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing Logistics Management Specialist work equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes performing work which requires applying a basic knowledge of logistics principles, concepts and methods that encompass a limited range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) applicable to ship modernization, conversion, overhaul, refueling and repair. Examples of specialized experience must include some or all of the following: 1.) Review and validation of configuration records associated with shipboard equipment, including comparing ship equipment with onboarding technical data, ships automated systems, and other data bases; 2.) Identifying material requirements, requisitioning, expediting, and receiving material essential to correct discrepancies, deficiencies, and restore equipment to full mission capability: 3.) Experience performing oversight and execution of various supply programs and solving unusually complex or difficult supply issues associated with various DOD programs; 4.) Experience processing purchasing card and contractual requirements utilizing the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) program; 5.) Experience generating updates to material status and generating material status reports; 6.) Ability to analyze requests and make valid decisions, which are supportive of the command and the intent of the sponsor and ability to effectively prioritize tasks and requirements.

Education

master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
