You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3) of WEPSTA FALLBROOK SET DET.

Duties

You will apprehend or detain individuals in accordance with regulations or laws. You will conduct investigations through record checks, interviews, surveillance, or other methods to ascertain any criminal activity. You will follow law enforcement procedures or techniques to enforce laws and protect life, property, and the civil rights of individuals. You will implement standard procedures for responding to requests for services, incidents, accidents, and alarms. You will perform law enforcement duties at fixed post entrance and exit gates to control vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
• You must have reached your 18th birthday prior to appointment.
• You must be able to successfully complete the mandated 40-hour Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).
• You will be required to be CPR certified and utilize a portable heart defibrillator where available.
• You must also successfully complete any annual sustainment training, Level 1 Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training (if applicable), and OC refresher training.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Issuing citations in violation of law enforcement regulations; 2) Conducting investigations related to critical incidents (i.e., traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, child abuse/neglect) in accordance to policies and procedures; 3) Interviewing witnesses to gather information about incidents; and 4) Conducting inspections of vehicles to detect the unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, explosives or any items detrimental to security. I have successfully completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.

I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equals one hundred percent.
