The position is located in AHF-400, Benefits Operations Center (BOC). The BOC is a nationwide benefits/retirement center for all FAA employees. The Human Resources Assistant (HRA) answers daily calls and emails averaging 30-50 inquiries per week. The HRA processes retirement/benefits actions, develop and present benefits education information such as New Employee Orientation, Open Season and other topics throughout the year.
Duties
The HR Assistant performs a combination of routine, multiple and varying assignments in support of HR professionals in the Benefits Operations Center under the limited direction of a manager, team leader, or more experienced employee. The HRA assists managers and other employees in day-to-day operations, and may act as a lead for other support staff to coordinate multiple assignments. The incumbent applies experience and advance knowledge of Federal retirement programs and benefits to plan, perform and accomplish administrative assignments for projects/programs. The Assistant has a broad understanding of how retirement/benefits actions and administrative assignments contribute to the Divisions activities and how providing customer service support to the FAA employees is a essential function of the BOC.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-E level: You must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-D, FG/GS-3/6. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes: Experience compiling, tracking, and analyzing personnel data, Experience with using an automated system to process personnel actions, Experience with providing customer service support by answering calls and responding to emails.To qualify for this position at the FV-F level: You must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-E, (FG/GS-7-8) level. Specialized experience includes: Experience compiling, tracking, and analyzing personnel data, Experience with using an automated system to process personnel actions, Experience with providing customer service support by answering calls and responding to emails.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
