Duties

You will be responsible for the starting, stopping and proper operation of the gas turbine generator and associated equipment. You will be responsible for relaying instructions to the following shift operator to include problems encountered and corrective actions taken. You will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting set points and other settings of the base microgrid along with all of the solar arrays and the BESS battery bank. You will be responsible for oversight and management of the plant operations and work with Boiler Operators to supply the steam and electricity necessary to meet the base requirements. You will decide what work must be done to correct problems.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain, at the minimum, a class three American Society of Power Engineers boiler operator's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a class three American Society of power Engineers boiler operator's license.
  • Must possess a valid state issued drover's license.
  • Must complete an annual physical and auditory exam.
  • Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable regulations. PCS is not authorized.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, nights and weekends, including holidays on a rotational basis.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
