About the position: This position will be assigned to the NAF Accounting Office on Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, New Mexico.

Duties

Performs a variety of general office duties such as receiving phone calls and visitors, routing and filing correspondence and maintaining files. Primary point of contact for the base Private Organizations (PO). Must be able to research and understand regulations. Works with PO's to ensure they are established and fundraising requests are valid with legal before routing for approval. Maintains PO files, examines budgets, balance sheets, and income and expense statements, reviews constitution and bylaws, insurance waivers and processes fundraisers or other applicable packages. Provides direction and guidance IAW AF Instruction to organizations that wish to become a PO. Coordinates PO requests through base legal office for the Resource Managers and before approval by the installation commander or his/her designee. Performs all administrative procedures in the event of non-compliance to include drafting and sending memorandums of suspension and dissolution. Oversees Special Morale and Welfare (SM&W) Unit Funds request. Prepares quarterly expenditure reports to support financial statements IAW governing directives. Serves as central cashier in the NAF AO. Accepts deposits from all Force Support Activities, ensuring deposits slips agree with funds deposited. Balance funds with deposit slips, making daily reports and deposit all funds with bank on base. Ensures all safeguards and controls are in place to ensure safety of funds. Will ensure all alarm checks are conducted weekly. Will cash checks, make change, and accept payment for dishonored checks. May perform accounting functions. Maintains all logs,. Apply official regulation to cash management and accountability. Trouble shooting routine actions by verifying audit trails and correcting errors. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be able to demonstrate or show experience which provided a high degree of attention to detail and strong communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and public. Must have experience in responsible clerical or office work, preferably with APF and NAF knowledge. Must demonstrate possession of a high degree of proficiency in typing and knowledge of work processing techniques. Must be a qualified typist. Must have six months experience in cash handling as a cashier or teller. Must have driver's license so daily deposits are made.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
