Duty Location: Lower Colorado Basin, Human Resources Office, Staffing and Classification Group located in Boulder City, NV.
Full time telework and remote work not available; housing not provided.
Duties
Conducts in-processing of new employees via an automated on-boarding system to include issuing appointment/information documents and obtaining appointment documents.
Serves as the point of contact for on-boarding employees.
Completes coding and processing of personnel actions using personnel systems/programs within Bureau, Department, and Office of Personnel Management guidelines.
Interprets and applies a variety of regulatory and policy guidance in order to process the full range of personnel actions in an automated personnel/payroll system.
Ensures appointment documents are completed correctly and processes the documents in the automated personnel/payroll system.
Responds to a variety of inquiries regarding HR policy and procedures.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level of GS-07.
Qualifications
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and/or specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-05, your resume must reflect one year of experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-04 level in federal service following policy/written instructions, and working with personnel data, filing records, handling multiple high-priority tasks, and using computers to complete work.
You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education if you have four full years of education above high school level. You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, by 01/22/2024.
Education
This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience. You must submit a copy of college transcript(s) (unofficial copy is acceptable) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include the name of the college or university and date the degree was conferred. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted.
