A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is May-June but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2023.

Duties

Performs simple and routine maintenance of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment, boats and related utilizes. Performs minor painting and plumbing. Assist higher graded maintenance workers. Performs minor carpentry painting and plumbing. Receives, unloads and processes incoming shipments according to established procedures. Performs routine maintenance to trails campgrounds and grounds in developed areas. Cleans and services toilets and rest rooms. Makes minor repairs as needed and other duties as assigned. Physical Demands: Works from ladders, scaffolds and platforms and where surfaces to be coated, or the parts of systems worked on are hard to reach that require incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, carries and sets up parts and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside where dirt, spray, and fumes are present. Also required to work in inclement weather and/or wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the Work of a Maintenance Worker without more than Normal Supervision(SCREEN OUT) Possession of Valid State Driver's License Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
