This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a MOBILE EQUIPMENT DRIVER EXAMINER, Position Description Number D2433000, and is part of the 169 LRS, South Carolina Air National Guard.

Duties

This position is located in the Distribution Section of the Deployment and Distribution Flight, Logistics Readiness Squadron/Flight, Mission Support Group, at an ANG Wing. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties relating to motor vehicle operation and safety. This is an Air National Guard Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification.

Requirements

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Qualifications

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Open to Areas 1 ONLY. Area 1: Current Permanent On-Board dual status technicians employed with the SC Air National Guard. (Does not include temporary and indefinite technicians). Area 2: Current military members of the SC Air National Guard. Area 3: Current nationwide Air National Guard military members, AF Reserve military members, and RegAF. (Must be willing to transfer to the SC Air National Guard). *Note- Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: MSgt/E-7 Military Requirements- Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section. GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment. The experience must include knowledge of standard shop terminology. A basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment. Experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical publications. Knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 24 months experience, education or training which provided knowledge and skill in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment design. Experience in the use of tools and test equipment. Experience developing, installing, inspecting or revising equipment maintenance programs and techniques. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3.
