Duties
Serves as technical lead specialist for the assigned Automated Information Systems (AISs) teams with responsibility for planning, organizing and directing the activities of lower graded computer specialists...
(cont.) in the architectural design and/or development of the assigned AISs.
Manages the development and enforcement of DoD/DLA standard methods and procedures for the execution of product development functions.
Responsible for performance analysis, data modeling, standards enforcement, and programming technical support running in a multiple operating system environment.
Serves as expert for assigned AIS/subsystem and designs/modifies or participates in design/modification of software applications.
Provides expertise and technical direction to team members in preparation of Software Test Descriptions and test data for testing.
Provides technical expertise and remains informed regarding industry trends and standards impacting the development and maintenance of architectural platform(s) for AIS or AIS Subsystem(s).
Develops strategic architectural objectives including objectives for system behavior at user sites, software engineering methods, and integration of purchased components with J6 developed components and with the database architecture.
Provides expertise and technical direction to lower graded information technology specialists in preparation of load, maintenance, recovery, and operating instructions for deployment of application/modification to customer support site(s).

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time- in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Provides technical expertise to information system personnel responsible for system design and to other systems analysts responsible for related portions of the AIS during development of system architecture, database and software design.
Modifies existing applications as necessary to migrate from a non-database to a database architecture.
Provides expertise to database administrators responsible for executing test cycles in backup and recovery procedures.
Develops requirements, recommendations, and alternatives for development, procurement and/or adaptation of software based on research, studies, and cost/benefit analysis.
