You will serve as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic in the Southwest Region Fleet Transportation Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will maintain, repair or overhaul all types of heavy duty mobile and stationary construction equipment.
You will maintain, repair or overhaul generators, compressors and power units as allied equipment on heavy duty vehicles.
You will complete overhaul and repair of gasoline and diesel engines.
You will complete overhaul or repair of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, steering systems, cooling systems, governors, generators and electrical systems.
You will repair specialized units on cranes, dozers, ditch diggers and graders.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to provide your own basic tools of the trade for performing the daily duties of this position. Special tools required will be provided from the tool room by the command.
- You may be required to lift/handle objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
