You will serve as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic in the Southwest Region Fleet Transportation Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will maintain, repair or overhaul all types of heavy duty mobile and stationary construction equipment. You will maintain, repair or overhaul generators, compressors and power units as allied equipment on heavy duty vehicles. You will complete overhaul and repair of gasoline and diesel engines. You will complete overhaul or repair of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, steering systems, cooling systems, governors, generators and electrical systems. You will repair specialized units on cranes, dozers, ditch diggers and graders.

• You will be required to provide your own basic tools of the trade for performing the daily duties of this position. Special tools required will be provided from the tool room by the command.
• You may be required to lift/handle objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
