Duties
You will troubleshoot complex optical devices and components on equipment (e.g. Tanks, Amphibious Assault Vehicles, Light Armored Vehicles, and Medium Towed Howitzer) to repair electro-optical and digital fire control systems components.
You will perform tests on equipment (e.g. laser rangefinders, thermal imaging sights, gunners primary/auxiliary sights, aiming circles, night vision goggles, etc.) to identify necessary repairs.
You will troubleshoot direct current circuits to repair various electro-optical, Digital Fire Control Systems, and electro-mechanical instruments.
You will maintain digital fire control components (e.g. azimuth indicators, telescopes, aiming circles, infra-red viewers, thermal night vision instruments, digital fire control systems, and laser range finders) to ensure operability.
You will disassemble and assemble instruments carefully according to specifications to prevent damage to fragile components
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a "Favorably Adjudicated" Access National Agency Check with Inquiries (ANACI) with Secret Security eligibility. This requires submitting a new ANACI Personnel Security Investigation (PSI) every 10 years.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Resume must reflect: Ability to do the work of a common Optical Instrument Repairer such as cleaning and inspecting lenses, prisms, reticles, mirrors using special cleaning techniques, cleaning solutions, eye loupes and pit, dig and scratch standards, etc.
