The incumbent of this position will work at Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site on park-wide volunteer programs working closely with the park Chief of Facilities. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Facilities but provides services to and collaborates with all park divisions and the Superintendent's office.
Duties
Duties include but not limited to:
Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the organization volunteer program including the assessment of needs, recruitment, training, placement, monitoring, safety, overall program evaluation and organization recognition.
Serves as the primary contact and liaison for potential and current volunteers and volunteer groups and responsible for developing and maintaining new volunteer partnerships in support of the organization.
Plans, develops, and organizes special volunteer project activities/events and coordinates logistical and administrative elements associated with such projects/events. Coordinates other volunteer activities.
Works with organization staff to identify and plan new volunteer opportunities and initiatives.
Responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting on volunteer hours and volunteer program budget.

Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-01/23/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience for this position include: provide day-to-day instruction for volunteer or youth work program; work with outdoor volunteer/youth projects; recruit volunteers/youth for park projects; and assist with special projects for volunteers You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Possess one year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement (SAA). One year of graduate education is 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours. (You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts indicating degree earned and credit hours.

COMBINATION: Have a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and professional experience. EXAMPLE: Completed 9 hours of related graduate level education (50%) and possess 6 months of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level (50%), total to one-year of the experience requirement. You must include a copy of your transcript(s).
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

COMBINATION: Combination of such education and experience. Note: only graduate education in excess of one year (18 semester hours) may be used to qualify applicants for the GS9 grade. For example, I have 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement) and 9 semester hours (in excess of the first 18 semester hours) of directly related graduate level education in an accredited institution (50% of the qualifying education). The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Note: Your resume must support this statement and you must submit copies of your transcripts.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using
education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
