Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. Duties

This position serve as project manager at Grand Teton National Park developing and leading project scopes, schedules, budgets, risks and communication efforts. Develop contract packages for both design and construction packages. Serve as a landscape architect at Grand Teton National Park ensuring that built features fit contextually within the landscape. Develop graphic representation materials in both rendered plan view and 3D or perspective view. Serve as a contracting officers representative on planning, design, and construction contracts. Physical Demands: The work is basically sedentary with occasional physical activity (walking, climbing, bending, stooping) during fieldwork, and may require visits to remote sites which require walking or riding over rough, uneven surfaces. Documentary research and report writing work is sedentary, which entails the ability to concentrate and write for long periods of time. Requires periodic field/construction site visits in remote areas. Work Environment: The work is performed in both an office setting and occasionally in the field as required to perform on-site investigations and inspections. Area Information: Grand Teton National Park and the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway in northwestern Wyoming preserve a spectacular landscape. The park encompasses the Teton Range and broad valley of Jackson Hole. Majestic peaks, wild canyons, piedmont lakes, forests, sagebrush meadows and the Snake River combine into one of the most scenic settings anywhere in North America. With 333,000 combined acres, the parks are at the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, one of the most biologically diverse regions of the world. Additionally, the park includes a wide array of cultural resources, including 318 historic structures, two national historic landmarks and over 300 archeological sites. Grand Teton is one of the most visited national parks in the country. This position is located in Moose, WY. Services are available in the neighboring town of Jackson, a small, recreation focused community of 10,000 year round residents. The town caters to four million tourists every summer, has an excellent hospital, well-respected school system, grocery stores, restaurants, and seasonal festivals. Outdoor activities abound including hiking, camping, backpacking, horseback riding, boating, biking, fishing, skiing, and mountaineering. Summer temperatures range between 65 - 80 degrees. Winter temperatures range from 30 degrees to below zero with heavy snow. Government housing may be available.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-01/22/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT Applicants must possess the basic education requirement for a landscape architect. Transcripts MUST be submitted and include your name, school name, credit hours, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. We cannot determine eligibility without this information. (A copy of your official transcripts will be required before entrance on duty, if selected). The Basic Education requirement may be met in one of the following ways (see below). 1. Degree in landscape architecture or landscape design. 2. Combination of education and experience. For each year short of graduation, you must have had 1 year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience must have included original landscape design. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic education requirements listed above for this position, applicants must also possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: the development of landscape architecture project construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates as well as project management of multiple concurrent projects as substantiated by my resume/application; knowledge of projects and standard processes - such as scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and communications; application of professional landscape architecture principles, practices, procedures of project development; managing contractors or other project team members and providing operational leadership principles and risk management regarding work safety. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking to support meeting the basic education requirement.
