Duties
Plan, develop and document geospatial business requirements for GTAC programs.
Coordinate IT acquisitions with CIO and GTAC Programs to support land and natural resource management decision making.
Plan and coordinate with CIO to ensure support, maintenance and management of GTAC IT hardware/infrastructure.
Assess, evaluate, and advise on the utility of new/evolving infrastructure to support geospatial applications.
Assess, evaluate, and advise on the utility of new/evolving geospatial software or technology to support geospatial applications.
Coordinate, acquire, track, and manage GTAC hardware, software, services, and technology resources in combination with GTAC programmatic and contract staff.
Work closely with CIO to determine, document, and implement best practices for GTAC.
Support GTAC by providing geospatial expertise on possible IT requirements or related non-IT infrastructure, hardware, software, and technology for geospatial workflows, processes, or projects.
Serve as a contracting officer representative (COR) and/or project manager (PM) on GTAC projects.
Requirements

GS-0101:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
GS-0401:
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR A combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
GS-1301:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
OR A combination of education and experience: 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also possess experience and/or directly related education in the amounts listed below.
Specialized Experience Requirement:
GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as a majority of the following: develop geospatial databases, data dictionaries, data models, and metadata for multi-disciplinary data-based decision making and geospatial applications; apply advanced GIS principles to facilitate geospatial model design and analysis of a wide range of complex data to answer business decisions related to forest planning activities; compile natural resource, topographic and cartographic data for creation of thematic map products and presentation materials to a variety of stakeholders; create and maintained data, maps, applications, and other communication tools using ArcGIS Online and other web-based GIS tools;: provide training and user support in the application of ArcGIS Pro, AGOL, and geodatabases;: developed and followed best practices in the use of geospatial technologies.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
