Duties

In this position you will serve as an Administrative Officer. Typical duties include: Drafting and implementing formal procedures to meet agency needs, initiatives, policies, and strategic priorities. Serves as a focal point for administrative and support services and provides program leadership and direction. Responsible for property and supplies inventories, materials & equipment control, distribution and storage; records management; personnel processing; Fleet management; Safety Operations for the District; and Engineering services for the District. Responsible for Administration of Business and Support Services for the District, to include: Budget development and oversight; collections, and utilization. Responsible for control of funds; procurement and contracting actions; administrative support of resource management programs; time and attendance, and travel coordination; facilities and property management. Supervising a staff of approximately 7 permanent employees. Ensures coordination and communication within Support Services and other staffs, the District Office and Field Offices.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-12 if you possess at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Leading a team, project, or work unit to meet established administrative goals; Maintaining the budget for a program or organization to ensure funding goals are met; Recommending personnel actions (e.g. hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, etc.) for employees; and Drafting written briefings or reports for internal and/or external stakeholders. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification AND time-in-grade claims will be subject to verification. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604.
