The Applied Physics Division is actively recruiting for a Secretary (OA) to provide a borad range of administrative tasks utilizing various administrative systems to support the Division.

Duties
The incumbent will serve as the office manager for the Division. The incumbent will collaboratively perform a broad range of complex administrative assignments for the Division. The incumbent will need to apply their own judgement in selecting the appropriate guidelines and references for application to specific cases. The incumbent will manage their own workload moving from one assignment to another without instructions, following established procedures, devising new procedures as required, and will need to track and monitor priorities and urgent requests to ensure timeliness or work being completed. The incumbent will directly support the Division Chief including drafting correspondence and reports, managing calendar and email, and arranging conferences.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level (ZS-III at NIST). Specialized Experience is defined as experience in providing secretarial and administrative support to an individual and his/her staff which required coordinating and managing clerical and administrative support work and deadlines; dealing appropriately with email, phone, visitors, correspondence; displaying initiative to follow up on activities to ensure administrative support requirements are met; and demonstrated skill in office management administrative support, and office automation support functions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
