About the Position: This position is located in the 355th Medical Group - Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, Arizona. This position will oversee a medical treatment facility ensuring it is safe, secure, clean, accessible and compliant with codes, standards and regulations.
Duties
Administer programs that manage medical safety risks, fire safety risks, emergency response that involve physical security, hazardous materials and waste.
Conduct inspections of physical structures, utilities, roadways and surrounding grounds to identify maintenance or restoration requirements.
Analyze facility systems to change or update maintenance procedures and recommend equipment or systems replacements.
Conduct quality assurance on maintenance and repair actions from contract maintenance activities to ensure quality, accuracy and completeness.
Oversee preventive maintenance services required on facilities, review of work accomplished, maintain logs and records and assess quality assurance of work accomplished.
Develop individual emergency evacuation plans for hospital facilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- You must possess or be able to obtain (within 30 days) and maintain (for duration of employment) a valid state driver's license.
- A pre-employment physical examination is required.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required..
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is 5% for in performance of duties and/or training
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Must be able to wear protective clothing and equipment such as hard hats, eye and hearing protection, high visibility vests, gloves, long sleeve shirts, durable pants, reinforced safety boots and fall protection harness.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on-call, holidays and/or weekends.
- This position requires immunizations screenings - Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis. You may be required to show proof of other immunizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting quality assurance surveillance of facilities, grounds, services, processes and systems to institute change, repair, modification, or replacement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
