The primary purpose of this position is to: Provides direct support as a joint exercise readiness planner to meet 16 AF and CCMD strategic and operational level objectives as part of the A3 staff. Supports joint exercise planning, development, coordination, facilitation, execution, assessment, and training.
The organizational location of this position is: Air Combat Command (ACC), 16th Air Force, Operations Support (A37) - Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Lackland AFB, TX
Duties
DUTY 1: Serves as an information technology specialist, cyberspace joint exercise readiness planner. Lead for 16 AF on technical, analytical, and advisory functions pertinent to development of training regarding local and Enterprise IT short- and long-range IT exercise planning with development of associated processes covering CCMD cyberspace operations.
DUTY 2: Analyzes complex operational, tactical situational awareness processes and cyber systems (security) to support mission activities. Develops and oversees the interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines through planning and assessment of joint cyberspace readiness. Maintains in-depth knowledge in IT standards, protocols, and methods of exploitation to provide advanced training/readiness scenarios.
DUTY 3: Develops assessment materials, plans scenarios, determines readiness, and exercises to determine operational requirements and gaps. Uses knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies to collaborate on cybersecurity designs for virtual, joint live and constructive training capabilities to meet specific operational needs and environmental factors (e.g., access controls, automated applications, networked operations, high integrity and availability requirements, multilevel security/processing of multiple classification levels, and processing Sensitive Compartmented Information).
DUTY 4: Represents the functional mission at higher levels within the CCMD. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other coordinating organizations. Maintains continuous liaison and represents 16 AF with USCYBERCOM, CCMDs, other services cyber headquarters staff, AF, and DoD within their area of functional responsibility.

- Position is designated special-sensitive, incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

Qualifications
This is a GG-13 position in the Cyber Excepted Service (CES). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Specialized Experience for GS-7 (or equivalent) and Above: Positions at GS-7 (or equivalent) and above require one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Having IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND I have the quality level of experience, which demonstrates a comprehensive range of cyberspace planning, execution, and assessment concepts, principles, and practices. Understanding of cyberspace components roles and responsibilities, cyberspace weapons systems, and current authorities' resident for the Commander, AFCYBER and Joint Force Headquarters Cyber. Advanced planning knowledge of the AF Cyber Mission Forces, National Mission forces, Cyber Protection forces, and DODIN operations and how readiness impacts them. Integrates knowledge of other Information Warfare (IW) disciplines cyberspace operations (CO), electromagnetic warfare (EW), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and Mission Support special activities capabilities to develop novel approaches for non-traditional, cross-functional solutions. Demonstrated knowledge of United States CYBERCOM, Joint Force Headquarters -Cyberspace (JFHQ-C), national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations and mission/functions, inter-relationships, and operations. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery of knowledge regarding communications-computer system requirements, AFCYBER tactics, Techniques
and procedures, the Air Force Information Network (AFIN) enterprise architecture, along with an in-depth knowledge of current and projected threats (as depicted by the intelligence community) to the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) and the AFIN.
2. Mastery of knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of Cyber Operations, and the standard practices, methods, and tactics, techniques, procedures of the occupation s to perform difficult and complex assignments.
3. Mastery of Information Technology (IT) best commercial and military practices, testing concepts and weapons systems capabilities. Utilizes this knowledge to assist the CCMD in accomplishing its cyber missions.
4. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques, as well as measurement of data to plan, schedule, and conduct projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations to include adapting or developing new or modified methods.
5. Skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of analysis sufficient to perform difficult assignments.
6. Ability to understand, develop analytical investigative techniques and provide recommended feasible solutions to 16 AF and CCMDs operational/readiness challenges, by working within and outside the organization to gain support for the organization's goals and objectives.
