Duties
You will write, acquire, edit, approve and disseminate information products related to organizational information and activities.
You will organize and coordinate print and broadcast media interviews with staff members and oversee arrangements with the media involving installation activities.
You will communicate with various audiences on the formulation of long-range plans and policies.
You will review all content prior to its publication and posting on the common internet-based capabilities and the installation public website.
You will provide public affairs representation and support to the Emergency Operations Center during destructive weather related incidents, crisis or any other time the EOC is operational.
You will provide public affairs and media engagement training to installation personnel and staff requsting or requiring support.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing and integrating communication strategy plans, acquiring, editing, approving and disseminating information products related to organizational information and activities, and providing public affairs and media engagement training to organization personnel.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, applicants can qualify for this position through education substitution. To qualify through education substitution, applicant must possess:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
Applicant can also qualify through a combination of graduate education and experience which when combined equals 100%.
