This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2467000 and is part of the CYBER INFORMATION, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. POSITION IS WITHIN DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS AND THE DUTY LOCATION IS ROCHESTER, NY.

Duties

As a Supervisory IT Specialist, GS-2210-13, you will manage the personnel in the mission command division of the CIO/G6/J6 and oversee the operational status of the systems covered by the sections.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.

• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
• Must obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance level.
• The incumbent of this position description must have, at a minimum, a completed Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) prior to position assignment.
• Irregular and overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
• The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Warrant Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
