This position is located in the Financial Resources Branch, Division of Resource Management, Region I. The supervisor is Shri Iyer.This position is in the Bargaining Unit. This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure and Security Ownership Restriction reporting requirements.ALL NRC employees are encouraged to apply.

Duties

The successful candidate will perform analytical and evaluative work related to Region I programs, management systems and processes impacting various technical and administrative areas of the Region.  Provides support functions in a variety of program areas including budget formulation, facility management, physical and personnel security, contract administration and general administrative services.   Such duties include, but are not limited to:1.  Participate in the Region I budget formulation process.  Develop and maintain budgeted staffing resource tables, including programmatic and organizational crosswalks, and integrate all data into consolidated reports.2.  Analyze data to capture lessons learned and provide improved methods and best practices and technical and administrative activities in the Region.3.  Analyze procurement requests, including cost benefit or lease-purchase analyses, to support regional purchasing decisions.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.  Specialized experience is defined as experience that has provided the candidate with the knowledge of a wide range of management and/or program analysis tools, techniques and skills to perform complex management and program analysis work; knowledge of analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to measure program effectiveness; and experience organizing data and preparing variety of reports.  In addition, experience that has provided a  knowledge of the federal budget and procurement processes sufficient to understand their relationship to financial plans.   The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: 1.  Knowledge of the principles, practices and processes of budget formulation and/or budget execution. 2.  Ability to analyze, evaluate, and resolve programmatic issues or problems. 3.  Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.   4.  Knowledge and understanding the administrative aspects of NRC regulations, policies, procedures and practices pertaining to financial, internal controls, acquisitions and other organizational directives.  A description of how you possess the specialized experience as well as how you meet the qualifications desired as an ideal candidate should be addressed in your resume.  The NRC encourages applicants to provide extensive job experience details in your resume.  Applicants may also use the supplemental vacancy question to provide additional information pertaining to specialized experience and ideal candidate criteria.
