Duties

You will read drawings, sketches, and blueprints to locate pipes. You will determine correct kind and size plumbing part (e.g., valves, traps, unions) to use for operation of systems. You will plan initial layout to final assembly of systems by using building plans, blueprints, sketches, and other plumbing guides or codes. You will install pipes with hangers, brackets, and other required support to maintain correct pitch and elevation.

Requirements

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is The Ability to perform the work of a Plumber without more than normal Supervisor as demonstrated by: 1) Installing, modifying, and repairing plumbing systems. (e.g., sewage, water, and gas distribution systems, water heaters, tubs, back flow prevention devices/assemblies, fire sprinkler systems, and showers); 2) Determining equipment, tools, and parts needed for plumbing repair work; and 3) Reviewing blueprints, building plans, or specifications to determine plumbing work details or procedures.
