DON Pathways Internship Program
You will serve as a STUDENT TRAINEE (TRADES) in the PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Work schedule (Full-time or part-time) will be dependent upon student's class schedule.
Duties
You will assist higher graded sub-journeymen and journeymen in shop work situations.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position has a minimum entry age of 16 years old. Candidates younger than 16 will not be able to begin employment until the age of 16.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
1) A high school or home-school whose curriculum has been approved by a State or local governing body;
2) An accredited college (including technical, vocational trade schools, two or four year college/universities);
3) A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school, etc.); OR
4) A Certificate Program in a qualifying educational institution, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study, that is part of an accredited, college-level, technical, trade, vocational or business school curriculum.
