You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT) within FLTREADCEN EAST.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will identify and continuously monitor bottleneck situations and makes recommendations to increase throughput and efficiency.
You will recommend alternate techniques and procedures to be used in expediting completion of items causing delays.
You will ensure prompt and positive action, including controlled back robbing and cannibalization, to alleviate bit and piece parts and material shortages.
You will obtain services of specialists in Engineering, Industrial Product Support Department, or other areas as applicable.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
1. Advises shop supervisors and branch heads and in some cases, the division head, of priorities, schedules, adjustments, and man-hours required to satisfy the depot's commitments utilizing various computer software, such as MRPII, databases, spreadsheets, other reports.
2. Coordinates with various workload planners and production controllers for the shop, branch and division to ensure the timely induction and scheduling of aircraft, engine, component, or manufacturing workload.
3. Analyzes workload to ensure workload schedules are attainable.
4. Investigates various delay problems and determines production shortfalls.
5. Identifies work stoppages or anticipated work stoppages and makes recommendations to the appropriate level of management for resolution.
