The Chief Financial Officer Organization (CFOO) provides the FDIC with accounting, financial, and employee services, as well as management of internal controls and operational risks. As professionals, who provide support and service to our co-workers and clients, we are dedicated to the highest level of quality, accuracy, timely delivery and reliability in all our products. This position is established for providing developmental work experience to students under the Pathways Program.
Duties
The CFOO is seeking interns that are interested in a career in accounting and financial services. Intern assignments can range from various accounting fields (such as operations; financial reporting and analysis; accounting and tax policy; and disbursement operations); assessment collections; investments; payment processing; administering the FDIC’s travel and relocation program; coordinating the budget formulation and execution process; information systems development and management; and management of internal controls and operations risks.

To be found eligible for this program, applicants must: (1) be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree seeking program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis; (2) have a minimum cumulative (overall) GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0; and (3) be in good academic standing. Education requirements are established by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and must be met by close of announcement. Below are the requirements by grade:
CG-04 level – Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree; OR have 1 year of general experience to include: progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled; OR have a combination of education and experience: equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.Combination of Education and Experience - Your current education completed is credited as a percentage of the education required for the grade level and your current experience is credited as a percentage of the total experience required for the grade level. The two percentages are added and must equal 100% in order to qualify for the desired grade level.
An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university.
