These positions are located in Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, Building and Utilities Branch.
Loads, unloads, moves, and stacks material such as heavy boxes and heavy items by hand, hand trucks, or dollies. Opens crates and boxes using crowbars and cuts bands using shears. Places items where directed.
There is no public transportation available to the park.
Duties
The major duties of the Laborer position include, but are not limited to the following:
Loads, unloads, moves, and stacks material such as heavy boxes and heavy items by hand, hand trucks, or dollies. Opens crates and boxes using crowbars and cuts bands using shears. Places items where directed.
Performs a variety of manual tasks such as moving, arranging, and collecting and cleaning equipment and materials. Moves and arranges furniture, as directed. May collect and empty and burn garbage, and wash and wax cars and trucks by hand or using powered buffer.
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of a Laborer, WG-3502-02 without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT)
Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order)
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (other than blueprints)
Ability to Use and Maintain tools and Equipment.
