This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Agroecosystems Management Research Unit in Ames, IA
In this position, you will serve as a personal assistant to the Research Leader and other professional staff, coordinating a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks essential to the program administration of the Management Unit.
Duties
Serve as the primary administrative business process point of contact for the unit.
Participate in program planning support work such as research project coordination, travel documentation, budget coordination, and procurement of supplies and equipment.
Establish, maintain, and revise the office filing system.
Produce a wide range of documents using a variety of office automation technologies.
Schedule conferences and meetings, including arranging logistics, preparing agendas, and notifying participants.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.

GS-06:
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-06 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience scheduling and coordinating meetings or conferences; assisting with office administration tasks including coordinating travel, ordering office supplies, or receiving leave requests; and using word processing programs to edit documents.
GS-07:
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience reviewing and editing manuscripts or reports intended for public dissemination; purchasing and procuring supplies and equipment; and contributing to the logistical planning of events, conferences, seminars, or trainings.
Applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.
