Duties

As a Procurement Clerk, you will be responsible for performing the following duties in a developmental capacity Maintains vendor lists, obtains price quotes, assembles solicitation packages and makes routine changes and amendments to procurement documents as required. Verifies item codes, reviews and corrects mathematical calculations; ensures accuracy of funding citations. Compiles data and prepares recurrent and special reports for use throughout the office to which assigned. Updates and maintains files of such transactions; ensures dollar amounts are correct and funding codes are properly cited; completes actions and required documentation. Monitors the status of PRs and simple contracts through daily contact with client organizations, vendors, and supply personnel (e.g. material planners) to obtain information. Support contract specialists and contracting officers in one or more procurement function related to recurring buys of commonly used commodities, goods and/or services (involving pre-award and post-award requirements.

  • Must be taking at least half-time course load, as defined by your school.
  • Remain in good academic standing in accordance with Participant Agreement.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Procurement Clerk your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Post-Secondary Student eligibility in accordance with requirements under the Post-Secondary Students and Recent Graduates Direct-Hire Authority. Applicants must meet the following requirements: Current enrollment in, and in good academic standing at, a full-time program at an institution of higher education; and Is making satisfactory progress toward receipt of a baccalaureate or graduate degree; and Has completed at least one year of the program In addition to meeting the Post-Secondary Student eligibility requirement, to qualify for a Procurement Clerk, your resume and supporting documentation must also support: B. Educational Requirements: This position is expected to lead to a targeted position with a positive education requirement. Individuals being considered should be enrolled in directly related degree programs in order to meet the OPM qualification requirements for the targeted position upon completion of their academic program. Such education must include at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law,contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.. YOU MUST SUBMIT A TRANSCRIPT as supplemental documentation. To qualify based on education, you must possess: GS-03: Completion of 1 academic year of post-high school study GS-04: Completion of 2 academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Students must be a citizen of the United States or lawfully admitted to the United States as a permanent resident or otherwise authorized to be employed. Current students enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. Students must be taking at least half-time course load, as defined by your school and remain in good academic standing in accordance with the Pathways Participant Agreement.

Education

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
