THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC T32, Position Description Number PDD1736P01 and is part of the AZ 162 MAI GP DET 1, National Guard.
Duties
This position is located in Ft. Huachuca with the 214th AMXS. The primary purpose of the position is to troubleshoot, repair, install, modify, test and adjust aircraft ordnance systems, equipment and components. On and/or off-equipment inspection, modification, overhaul, troubleshooting and repair capability of weapons release; verifies and analyzes malfunctions, troubleshoots, tests, inspects and loads/unloads conventional munitions; installs/removes weapons delivery equipment, and launchers.

Requirements
- ARIZONA AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Air National Guard, in a military position assigned to 214th AMXS.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
- Individual selected will receive an Indefinite Appointment and may be converted to permanent based on availability of funds or position no longer being encumbered.
Qualifications
Military Grades: A1C/E3- MSGT/E7
Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess or able to obtain the AFSC 2W1X1
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components. Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings. Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 18 months experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems. Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.
