This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for The incumbent will be responsible for producing and directing multimedia products for streaming on DoD web platforms world-wide.
Duties
As a AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION SPECIALIST at the GS-1071-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Providing direction and oversight on media production matters. Responsible for day-to-day planning and execution of live, field/remote, and studio produced television and audio-visual products, as assigned, created at DMA.
Directing and managing live and field produced television broadcasting/recording, studio and control room facilities and the associated equipment assets at a level equal to that of major networks in the commercial broadcast television industry.
Managing operations and allocation and execution of funding IAW DMA and DoD policy.
Assigning other Executive Producers and team members, sets production priorities, develops crew schedules and manages the production planning calendar.
Preparing procurement packages for the Production Services Division for television and audio visual services and equipment.
Developing, establishing and communicating performance standards; providing team members with the tools, training and authority they need to be successful in their jobs and holding them accountable for their performance.
Understanding, determining and overseeing the transmissions and routes of live and pre-recorded products from source to destination.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Non-Critical Sensitive/Secret security clearance.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Independently planning and managing all production aspects to live stream major events involving senior officials of command level or higher speaking on behalf of a department, agency, or organization;
Speaking on behalf of a department, agency or organization in planning sessions with clients, including senior officials of command level or higher; and
Collaborating in planning sessions with clients to coordinate best methods for capturing and transmitting events for streaming on secure web platforms and for posting to Visual Information Distribution Systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Experience:
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
