Duties
You will be responsible for all planning, coordinating installation, testing, operations, and trouble-shooting all hardware and software systems hosted at the 1st Network Bn.
You will provide problem management processes and methodologies for local, base, and wide area networks.
You will conduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure operability of MCEN-N and MCEN-S services.
You will be responsible for implementation of baseline systems security in accordance with all applicable orders, polices and directives.
You will maintain accounts and access to equipment and systems by providing optimization and support for restorations of services.
You will provide technical support for classified and unclassified network and end-user microcomputer software and hardware.
You will respond to customer complaints associated with daily operational requirements, poor connectivity, throughput problems, and service outages..
You will maintain system functionality, integrity and efficiency..
You will manage accounts, and access rights to systems and equipment.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position has been designated as a Cyberspace Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) role of Technical Support proficiency level Intermediate.
- You are required to obtain and maintain foundational and residential qualifications within prescribed timelines and participate in continuous professional development program as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 and supporting DON policies.
- This position is MISSION ESSENTIAL, the incumbent is required to perform on a regular day shift work schedule and can require the incumbent to work nights, weekends, holidays, inclement weather, furlough periods, or as needed for mission success.
- This position is telework eligible.
Qualifications
You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include installing, configuring, optimizing, and troubleshooting network devices while also providing timely and accurate updates.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include providing feedback on network requirements, including network architecture, infrastructure, and routing.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include communicating technical matters in writing and orally to facilitate appropriate managerial action and customer understanding.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include identifying, remediating, and reporting on network device vulnerabilities, or troubleshooting major incidents or problems within the network.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by interpreting and adapting guidelines, such as the policies, regulations, precedents, and work directions for application to specific cases or problem.
