About the Position: You will preform a variety of duties related to the inspection, maintenance and repair of targets. Position is located at Yakima Training Center, Washington.
Duties
Operate a variety of agricultural and industrial equipment to perform range maintenance.
Makes electrical/electronic diagnosis and repairs on target systems powered by up to and including 120 V
Performs mechanical diagnosis and repairs.
Performs site work around target devices. Fills in holes, smooths out gravel and topsoil.
Performs operator maintenance on vehicles used to perform work on ranges such as 4-wheel drive pickup, ATVs, tractor with backhoe and front end loader.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be required to complete occasional business travel.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) you must report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Must sign DA Form 5019 acknowledging both pre-appointment and periodic random drug testing requirements.
- A pre-employment physical is required; job requires frequent heavy lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs and occasionally 70 lbs or more with assistance.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- This position may require shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT WORKER without more than normal supervision. such work includes demonstrated experience using tools such as screw drivers, pliers, cutters, levels, fish tape, wire strippers and crimpers, hammers, punches, etc. to repair and install electrical systems. Measuring, cutting, threading , and bending conduit. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort - Frequently lifts and carries tools, equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lifts up to 70 pounds or over with assistance. The work requires bending, stooping, and working in cramped positions.
Working Conditions - Duties are performed outdoors with exposure to temperature extremes and all types of weather conditions, exposure to dust, dirt and mud, cuts, bruises, back strains; injury from flying debris from hand and power tools. Pest control work involves exposure to toxic vapors, liquids and powders; exposure to insects that may carry diseases and insect bites and stings. Must be able to wear a respirator and use other personnel protective equipment (PPE). Reports for duty during inclement weather, natural disasters and other emergency situations.
