Duties
Analyzes and compiles non-MTF resource requirements in the region and prepares supporting schedules and exhibits for incorporation into the Defense Health Program and Program Objective Memorandum and budget submissions.
Conducts independent analyses and interpretation of the impact of new legislation on regional resource requirements using a variety of analytical techniques.
Provides expert advice and assistance in the development of budgetary plans for the directorate.
Develops and conducts Management Internal Control and various economic management, and/or cost analyses of defense health activities and requirements within the region.
Contributes to the budget briefings for the Resource Steering Committee.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are requird.
- Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278e) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- Financial Management Level 3 Certificate must obtain within one (1) year after placement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing program budgets to ensure command objectives are met; analyzing past and current financial reports to establish future budget plans; and assisting with policy development. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
