You will serve as a Engineering Equipment Operator in the Public Works Department of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will adjust attachments for correct level, angle, or depth based on work requirements and equipment. You will operate heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to rough specifications. You will carry out maintenance on assigned mobile engineering equipment. You will complete engineering or construction equipment operations within specified time frames to meet customer requirements. You will follow established practices to provide continuously safe and reliable operation of engineering and construction equipment. You will inspect equipment for signs of wear or damage to maintain safe operating condition.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Incumbent operates construction heavy equipment, such as backhoe, mini- excavator, excavator, motor grader, front end loader, bulldozer, street sweeper, skid steer, etc., to excavate, backfill, grade, compact, slope, spread, break and remove pavement, snow removal operations etc. 2) Incumbent operates truck tractor, over 26,000 lbs. (GVW); 6x4 driving wheels, manual and automatic transmissions powered by diesel and gasoline engines, equipped with air brakes, 5th wheel capability to pull semi-trailers of various types to include flat beds, low boys and van bodies. Operator will be required to transport cargo consisting of supplies, material, equipment, vehicles Hazardous Materials etc., 3) Incumbent operates buses, automotive vehicles, Fuel Truck and MHE (Forklift) in support of operational requirements. Must have state commercial Driver's license (CDL) of current state resident and maintain a valid US Government DOD Operators permit for types of vehicle/equipment required for this position. Class P (Bus) and H (Hazmat) endorsements may be required.
