This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. This position is located within Information Services (I), and can be assigned to any of the divisions within Information Services. The incumbent performs under the direction of the Division Director and the agency Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Duties
As an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW), you will:
- Be responsible for Information Services' IT Accessibility / Section 508 Program on behalf of the NARA CIO. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring IT accessibility activities are performed in accordance with agency Section 508 policies, guidance, and best practices, including policies related to:
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-,13 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Assessing the maturity of the Agency IT section 508 Accessibility; AND
- Providing testing of Section 508 Accessibility Compliance; AND
- Developing automation code for Section 508 Accessibility automated testing
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
