This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Junior Operations Officer/Information Technology Specialist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Information Technology (CEIT/G-6) under the direct supervision of the District IT Chief. This is a Term Appointment NTE 5 Years. May be made permanent without further competition.

Duties

Maintains a continuing overview of all programs within the local facility to ensure they are aligned and supportive of the mission. Coordinates the resources for the asset management systems to automate the process of IT requirements. Establishes local priorities, clarifies responsibilities, eliminates duplication, and resolves conflicts. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates actions, taskers, and activities through correspondence, reports, and briefings, and recommends or directs necessary actions. Assists in developing policies, processes, and procedures pertaining to operations. Provides or arranges for technical and interpretive information to other staff ensuring rapid and effective response to taskers and directives pertaining to operations, support requirements and crisis action.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Assignment requires up to 20% travel (TDY).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Analyze customer requirements; AND 2) Implement developed requirements for new or modified IT hardware, software, and systems; AND 3) Apply changes in the state of the art technology on overall Division plans and the IT programs of an organization. All experience areas shall additionally demonstrate each of the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication, and 4) Problem Solving. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
